Kitchen Table Conversations: East End Food Introduction & Tasting

Saturday, February 22 from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm

East End Food Institute, 39 Tuckahoe Road, Southampton

During this workshop, co-presented with South Fork Natural History Museum, participants will learn about our regional food system, from farm to consumer, and the challenges it presents. They will gain an understanding of how East End Food Institute works with local farms to support them in recruiting and training apprentices and preserving their harvest, as well as our farm to community program that works to keep more food within our region and tackle supply chainproblems. Participants will get to participate in a hands-on activity that illustrates these concepts and sample a seasonal specialty from our kitchen. Fee: $5 per person

Knife Sharpening Demo

Tuesday, March 3, 2020 from 11 am to 1 pm

East End Food Institute, 39 Tuckahoe Road, Southampton

Sharp Cat Knife Sharpening will be demonstrating and teaching freehand sharpening using Japanese waterstones on the first Tuesday of each month from 11 am to 1 pm. Bring your knives and any stones if you own them for one on one hands on coaching. You can drop in at any time during the two hour window.

Join us for a monthly Lunch & Learn to get connected with other members of the local food community, share ideas, and workshop any and all obstacles you may be facing in launching or growing your business. A Moveable Feast
