The Virtual Farmers Market leverages East End Food Institute’s existing facility and operations infrastructure, plus investment in a new e-commerce software.
WHEN WILL THE VIRTUAL FARMERS MARKET BE ACTIVE?
The Virtual Farmers Market will be open year-round, but will be more heavily promoted to drive off-season sales between November and May annually. The market is intended to complement (not compete with) seasonal outdoor farmers markets.
HOW WILL CUSTOMER ORDERS BE FULFILLED?
The weekly schedule will be as follows:
Sunday - Thursday: Customer Orders Accepted
Thursday at Noon: Customer Order Cutoff
Friday by Noon: Vendor Deliveries to East End Food Institute (Southampton)
Saturday 9:00am to Noon: Customer Pick-up at East End Food Institute
Saturday 1:00 to 5:00pm: Customer Home Delivery (from Southampton)
WHO CAN PARTICIPATE AS A VENDOR?
Any Long Island-based food, beverage, or craft producer may apply to be a vendor within the Virtual Farmers Market.
