Lazy Point Farms is a project of the Moore Family Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose mission is to help advance the kelp industry on Long Island through research and development of cultivation, grow-out and processing methods. We provide equipment, supplies and community education for aspiring kelp farmers and existing shellfish farmers and hatcheries who wish to grow it to improve local water quality or as food. As a crop, kelp can provide a reliable additional income for farmers who have existing aquaculture farms; no fresh water, fertilizer, or arable land is needed for growth. Kelp is a remarkable water filter; it promotes biodiversity by attracting marine life where it grows; it can protect shorelines, and it is a powerful force in lowering carbon dioxide in our atmosphere and nitrogen in our water. It can also be used as soil amendment and as a natural alternative to synthetic fertilizer. As a food, kelp is a rich source of omega-3s, fiber, and other nutrients. The benefits of growing and eating kelp have innumerable benefits to our planet, health, and local economy and ecosystem. For more information, contact Wendy Moore at kelp@mooregood.org.

Bayberry Bakery got its name by coopting the name of a plant that is local to the area and is a hardy survivor. Before the arrival of a couple of notable pastry chefs to the area selling to retail as of late 2021 there seemed to be a dearth of decent baked goods available for sale. I decided to change that. I have a very high standard on what constitutes a delicious baked good. Every calorie eaten should be worth the experience. I strive to create scrumptious baked goods that can be both humble and grand. I have had very good responses to everything I deem worthy to sell. I am a full time resident and have the ability to run my business as much as the demand requires. Follow us on Instagram.

Cyanotype or 'Sun Printing' was invented in 1842 and is a photographic process where light sensitive solution is applied to watercolor paper. Flavor Fields is an umbrella brand created in 2018 as a hub for culinary innovation. Its focus is to source new and outstanding products for chefs that spark creativity in the kitchen. In 2006, the first US operations were built under the Koppert Cress brand, with a facility on the North Fork of Long Island. Alongside Koppert’s magnificent microgreens and edible flowers, Flavour Fields will carry Lafayette Spices, an extraordinary line of salts, spices, and flavorings; as well as grow-your-own microgreen kits from the company, Grown.
